[ethereal-users] Help - newbie

I have just installed ethereal on a HP11 box, I tried running the tool
as root.

I selected capture and put in lan0 as my interface.

A popup box appeared saying that:

can't find PPA for /dev/lan0


could someone explain whats happening, and a possible solution.
